veggies + herbs in a
market style pick up
CSA PRICING + INFORMATION
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA share is purchased pre-season (though we do offer payment plans!) and guarantees you a weekly supply of fresh, farm grown veggies from June- October. By purchasing a CSA in the pre-season, you allow us to offset some of our start-up and cost of living expenses, which in turn helps us to reduce our annual debt. It costs a lot of money to get the farm running each spring- potting soil, seeds, fertilizer, new tools, infrastructure repairs, wages….it adds up!
Our CSA is “free-choice-ish”, which means we are offering our members a blend of traditional and modern CSA styles. Instead of packing up a box for you to pick up, we will set share options out in a market style display at the farm for you! Our CSA members can choose from a variety of options to fill their weekly share basket. Some items will have quantity limits, some items will be unlimited, and some items will be required. We will try very hard to make items unlimited as frequently as possible throughout the season.
We wish we could say that we’re the type of farm that will send out a weekly newsletter with photos, recipe ideas, and farm updates. But, we know ourselves too well to promise that. You can expect a farm newsletter a couple times a month, all the bells and whistles included.

What is Community, anyways?
We believe that a CSA cultivates and nourishes a community around the farm. Weekly CSA pick ups are fertile ground for catching up with friends, sharing recipe ideas, and basking together in the seasonal bounty and abundance of the farm.
Living and working rurally, it is important to us that we nurture spaces of safety, inclusiveness, and mutual aid. We strive for the farm to be one of these spaces for our CSA members.
2025 CSA Sign Up
Our 2025 CSA will run May 27th-October 28th; members will pick up shares 20 weeks out of that 21 week schedule. Your farmer will take 1 week off of CSA distribution, and we’ll be sure to let you know that week with plenty of advance notice. Members will receive 1 “skip” week to use if they need to. csa FAQs

CSA Memeber Policies
By enrolling in our CSA you are agreeing to abide by the Member Policies. Please read them below.
- Non refundable. Balances do not carry over to the next season, including add on shares. Unused share balances are not refundable.
- Payment. You agree to your pay share in full by July. 50% deposit is due at time of sign up, though we encourage you to pay in full at sign up if you are financially able to. Those choosing to use a payment plan will pay the remaining share balance in three (3) monthly installments May, June, July.
- This CSA is a safe and inclusive space for all; we do not tolerate racism, discrimination, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, acts of hate or violence on our property or within our CSA membership. Members acting in opposition to these guidelines will be asked to leave the farm property, and may be removed from CSA membership.
- Dogs. We love dogs, but please no dogs at CSA pick up. We have two awesome farm doggos you can love on while you are here!
- Schedule. Pick ups are Tuesdays 4-6pm on our farm in Freedom. Late pickups without prior notice will be considered forfeit and donated to the local food pantry. If you know you are running late or something comes up, please text/call Rachel and we can probably work something out.
- Skip Week Policy
- Please give at least 12 hour notice when using your chosen skip week, so that we can adjust our harvest and preparations.
- If you do not use your skip week credit at the Downtown Waterville Farmer’s Market (or indicate which organization you would like a monetary donation to go to) by the end of the year, we will make the donation to an organization of our choice.
- You don’t have to use your skip week! You’ve paid for 20 weeks of veggies, and we’d love for you to show up for all 20! The skip week program is our way of offering you a bit of flexibility.
- You only get one skip week. No additional credit or donation-in-kind will be available if you miss more than one CSA distribution. If you need to miss a week, and have already used your Skip Week allowance, we suggest you ask a family member, friend, or neighbor if they would like to have your share that week.
- Mindfulness when filling your share. This is a free choice CSA, which means that you get more flexibility and control over your share contents. We ask that you be mindful when filling your basket at pick up! (Please don’t take all of something without asking y’all!)
- We agree to always have a farmer present for the full share pick up window. We’re here to answer questions, share cooking tips, and keep the tables stocked!
Frequently Asked Questions
- Are you Certified Organic?
- Yes! Our vegetable, herb, and flower productions are certified organic by MOFGA.
- Wait, can you explain the “skip” week to me again?
- Sure Thing! CSA members get 1 “skip” to use if they can’t make it to pick up that week. The farm will reimburse you the value of that week’s share in one of two ways. One, you can choose to have a credit to use at our market stand @ Downtown Waterville Farmer’s Market. or, Two, you can choose to have to value of your missed share donated to an ag/social justice cause of your choice (we’ll circulate a list to pick from).
- You only get one skip week. No additional credit or donation-in-kind will be available if you miss more than one CSA distribution.
- You don’t have to use your skip week! The skip week program is our way of offering you a bit of flexibility. You are more than welcome to have a family member/friend/neighbor pick up your share if you know you will be missing a week. Just let us know who is coming, please.
- How big are the shares?
- The Full Size Share is designed to feed two veggie lovers for the week, or to be the core produce purchase for a family of 3-4. The value of the share will be a minimum of $35/ week, and consist of 8-11 items.
- The Small Size Share is designed for folks who want farm fresh veggies, but don’t necessarily want them all to come from their CSA. The value of the share will be a minimum of $23.75/ week, and consist of 5-7 items.
- Whats up with the PYO Flower Share?
- the PYO Flower Shares give you access to our flower patch throughout the season, so you can pick fresh flowers when you want.
- Our PYO Flower Share is priced by the visit, rather than by the stem or bouquet, though we ask share members to not pick more than two chunky bouquets worth at a time to make sure there are enough flowers to go around. There are two share size options- 5 visits or 10 visits.
- We’ll give you a punch card at the begining of the season to keep track of your visits.
- We anticipate the flower patch will be open early July- late September, though the timing is very weather dependent. We will be sure to let you know when the patch opens and closes. Sometimes we may have to close the PYO patch- ie, bad weather, not enough blooms, etc.
- What are Add- On Shares?
- Add-On Shares are additional products you can add to your Full or Small Size CSA Share. You must be enrolled in a Full or Small Size CSA Share to purchase Add-On Shares. Add-On Shares are non-refundable, and are not covered by the “skip” policy.
- How does payment work?
- Payments can be made in full, or in a payment plan as outlined here. We must receive your payment within 14 days of signing up to hold your spot in the CSA. We can accept payment via card, check, or ACH transfer, though we strongly prefer payments made by check (less fees!)
